Dozier-Libbey Medical High School is AUSD's specialty magnet for students pursuing medical careers — doctors, nurses, EMTs, medical technicians. Admission is selective; program is rigorous; college placement is strong.
The school enrolls roughly 700 students total, selected from across Antioch (and sometimes beyond). Students complete traditional college-prep coursework plus medical-focused electives, clinical observation hours, and internship opportunities with local hospitals.
Unlike traditional high schools, Dozier-Libbey doesn't have strict geographic attendance boundaries — students apply district-wide. That said, living near the school (Lone Tree / Deer Valley area) does simplify logistics for students and families.
For families specifically interested in the medical pathway, Dozier-Libbey is transformative. For families not on that pathway, standard AUSD high-school assignment (Deer Valley, Antioch High) is what matters for home location.
